Handi comparison article...
« on: December 11, 2007, 09:13:10 AM »
I remember a while back I ran across an article that was attempting to do a comparison of varmint rifles.  The rifles ran the Gamut, but I think they were supposed to be "out of the box".  In other words, not customized yet.  They ranged in price from multi thousand dollar Blasers, and the like, all the way down to the lowly old H&R Handi.

Long story short, the Handi came in like third as far as accuracy went.  They were shocked!  They said that on examination that it was kind of a forgone conclusion that it would stink with its shallow rifling and under $300 price tag.  It was a tack driver though.

All that to say this, I can't find the article or even remember what magazine it was.  Does this ring a bell with anyone?  Does anybody have a link to the article?  Any help?

I don't know about the article but the results don't surprise me.
I have a 30-30 and a .223 and both will shoot an honest 1" or less with factory ammo.
There just isn't any need to spend alot of money to get a good shooting rifle.
Go buy a Handi for $250 or less and be done with it!!

Thanks.  I read that one, but that is not it.  The one I am speaking of involved more rifles.
