Five year old bags bear..

   Tre Merrit of Dewitt co, Arkansas shot a 445 # black bear. Story says that Tre is 5 years old..and 10th gen descended from Davy Crockett.
   Grandpa said, " I told him to take careful aim, and squeeeze the trigger.."
  
    I would like to hear some details... The story said the boy used a "youth" rifle..looks like an NEF or a Rossi, see what you think whenyou see
    the picture !

   Story said the 445# bear was12X the size of the boy; 37# seems a bit light for a 5 year old, don't you think ?  Sorry for the double pic.

Looks more like a Rossi to me from the pistol grip...could be wrong though..

  I thought at first it was an NEF..but like you, I thought the pistol grip is a bit too "drawn out" for NEF..

   Admittedly, the picture quality was not good either..

If you watch the video, when he lifts the rifle, you'll see the white line spacer which is common to Rossis, also, the contoured pistol grip isn't common on a Handi unless customized, the forend is also fat, it's a Rossi IMO.
