crossbow from Break Free?
« on: December 13, 2007, 06:19:00 AM »
I bought a book on crossbows(Pedersons?) some years ago.In it there was a picture of a bow design supposedly from the Break Free lubricant company. It used full length arrows propelled by surgical tubing, similar to a scuba spear gun ,but with sights. They claimed ease of use in tight cover and increased power for the same draw weight with the long power stroke and arrows.Never saw it for sale;wonder if anyone ever saw one and what you experienced crossbow users think of the concept?

When I was a kid a LONG time ago, i had a wooden "Whammo" slingshot. the kind w/ flat latex rubber and they gave you a piece of wire w/ them w/ a "V" in the middle for shooting arrows.  It's performance was less than stellar, suspect this gizmo you saw will be about the same, lol
