I have read that this barrel has brutal recoil in the 6 1/2lb. Encore. If I replaced the factory recoil pad with a Limbsaver pad and added Magnaport Piegon Porting would shooting comfort be much improved. I am not looking at shooting dozens of rounds in a session but just an occasional shot at game. I would think that the lighter the slug = less recoil. I would not be using the 720gr. Dixie slugs or any max. loads that would increase the recoil problem. Would the sabot type slugs increase or reduce recoil?
