Well...if you like the rifle, here's my other favorite gun from Big Green.  It's my all purpose shotgun (ducks, geese, doves, turkeys, clays, snakes, armadillos, etc).  It is a Remington model 332 with 26" barrels.  This picture was taken on a North Dakota duck hunting trip.  It had just been film dipped with Mossy Oak Break Up camo.  That finish really took a beating over the past 5 years, so I just had it refinished with Black-T by Walter Birdsong in Mississippi.  Along with a new stock and fore-end, it's almost back to looking like original...for now.  ;)

Yes I am still alive...did you ever make it up to PA for that hunt we talked about a while ago?

Walter Birdsong is one of the nicest gentlemen I've ever had the pleasure of speaking with.  His work is flawless.  The gun looks amazing.  Everything is coated...springs, pins, ejectors, firing pins, etc.  It actually ejects shells about 2x as far as it used to.  I'd recommend his finish to anyone.

Nice 'yote gun, BTW.

Oh...and klt, that CDL is one of my favorite rifles that Remington makes.  Congrats on that one!

I would love to get a CDL in .270 or .30/06 sometime in the near future. Such a beautiful gun!

Thanks, I really like the look and feel of the CDL.  I had not bought a wood stocked, blued finish gun in a good while.  Came across this rifle at a good price, although it did not have the new X-Mark Pro trigger, so I jumped on the deal and had a gunsmith friend of mine do a little trigger work and it is perfect now.

Took my new Remington 700 CDL to the range Saturday and was pleasantly suprised!  A few days earlier I picked up 2 boxes of 130 grain Federal Power Shoks(blue box) at Sportsmans Warehouse for $16.99 each.  I'm really impressed with how well that ammo shot in this rifle.  All groups were just a tick over an inch measuring outside to outside.  Considering it was a hot, humid day and the fact that I was using sand bags as a rest, I was indeed happy with the results.  Really has me thinking of what this rifle could be capable of with some good handloads.

I thought  I would toss my Remington in the ring on this post. This is my left handed Remington VS in .308. It is topped off with a Springfield 4x14x56 scope that I had picked up for my M1A a while back.

Measure outside to outside and subtract the diameter of the bullet and that will give you your app group size. Your group size was probably closer to 3/4". Dave

Thanks Dale. Sniper,My M40 is kindof cool, those things take a lot of reading to learn about too. It's neat to go to a Museum and see a real one though. Here's Chuck Mawhinneys at the USMC Museum.

This one is Next.
