I was wondering if anybody had any experience with the Taurus Millennium Pro in 45? I've been thinking about getting one for concealed carry, but wanted to find out more info first.

I' d look at something else, like I posted in the taurus forum, my business partner and I bought 2 24/7's in .45 and both will not feed hollow points or some roundnose if the bullet is not hard and very rounded. May not apply to the millinium but I doubt it. JMHO.

have to agree with bushmaster on this one. I have had three taurus's two semi's and one revolver they all had to go back to the factory to get fixed and on the two semi's they had to go back multiple times. I know there are guys out there that love their taurus but I have had nothing but problems with them.

It's a Taurus right? That should tell you all you need to know about it to make your decision unless you've not been following the reports of the junk they are shipping these days on the various web sites.

Once I was really pleased with Taurus and touted them highly and then they got the big head apparently and let quality slip badly and then let customer service go to the pits as well. After several bad ones in a row two of which had to be replaced by Taurus to even work at all I gave up on them. The Raging Bulls are about the only thing I'd feel comfortable with these days.

I ABSOLUTELY would not bet my life on the dependability of a Taurus and that is exactly what you are betting on a self defense/concealed carry piece.

I hadn't read any bad reviews till now. I definitely will NOT be trusting my life to Taurus. Well the search continues for a small concealable auto. Thanks for the replies.

If you want to get a feel for it go to the Taurus Forum here and read awhile. If you do I promise you'll not be wanting a Taurus afterward.

If it has to be polymer, Id look at the XD or Glocks.

It doesn't have to be polymer. I have been looking at the XD Sub compacts and also the Glock 36.

I had a Taurus Millennium in 45 (not the Pro) and after every 5 or 6 shots it would not fire until you released the trigger. An interesting flaw that took more than one trip back to the factory to fix. Then I never quite trusted it.

I have 2 Buddies who have had the Taurus PT 145s for over a year with out any problems. Based on those observations, I purchased a Millennium Pro 45. After almost 250 rounds fired through it, it wouldn't feed any more. So I finally broke down and cleaned it. Now it feeds and ejects flawlessly again.

I guess I'll just have to live with the fact that this thing isn't a revolver (I'm a wheel gun nut)! I guess it has to be cleaned now and then! $:-\$

I fixed both of the Taurus 24/7's by polishing the breech face from above the firing pin hole to the bottom of the slide to a mirror finish. So far so good. $:-\$

According to the review in "Gun Blast" by Jeff Quinn, the ramps on the new Millenniums have been polished pretty good.

I haven't had any problem as long as I clean it every couple hundred rounds or so.

The feed ramps are polished damn good, but that's not was hanging these 2 up. Both would jam with round nose and hollowpoints. Would not shoot 3 hollowpoints in a row. After polishing the breechfaces on both, I have fired 100 roundnose through the wife's gun with no FTF. Fired 24 hydrashocks through the other gun with no FTF. More testing will be required (ran out of time) but it's a good start.

I have had mine for about a year and my Dad has had his for over a year. Both run very well. The only problem I had was a stiff mag spring. I put the full 10 rounds into it and let it sit for a couple of week. Haven't had a problem since. Runs hollow points very well. I'd recommend one. just make sure its a Mill Pro. The original version (original) had some problems. The Millennium Pro version fixed those problems.
I'd also recommend the new S&W M&P compacts are very nice. I shot my buddies in .40. I liked it. Plus if you buy one I think before Jan 31, then you can get 2 free mags and a $50 rebate. So you would have a total of 4 mags!!

My wife has her permit and she wants to carry. After going to several gun shops where she tried out the Para LDA, Smith M&P, the Glock and even a Kahr, she chose the Taurus Millennium Pro in 9mm. What a surprise!

I'm going to have it purchased through Davidsons (the distributor), because Davidsons has their own replacement guarentee of firearms they sell. That way I avoid the Taurus service policies if I need one.

I do wish I could find a laser to fit on that little 9mm Pro though.

Does anyone know of one that will fit?

Armalaser is working on one as we speak. Looks really good with the benefit of not having a toggle switch. I saw it on the Kel Tec sight a few days ago @ ktog.org and do a search on armalaser. There was a picture of one on a pt145. Good Luck!

By the way, we picked up a new Millennium Pro in 9 mm for my wife 2 days ago. Since then we have put just under 300 rounds through it. Not a single hic-up! This baby shoots a group that can be covered by a stryo cup bottom at 15 yards. I can't get over how nice and polished the feed ramp is, it is just like a mirror....at least as nice as my Millennium Pro .45.

Really nice little shooter.

Ohh, and just so you would know, I'm a reloader and all but 50 rounds through this little 9 mm have been my reloads. They have all been 124 grn bullets over a comfortable charge of WW 231. 1/2 have been TMJ truncated and the other half have been Lead Round Nose.

This little 9 mm has eaten them all and come back asking for more. Just as reliable as my .45!

My new PT145 just arrived at the FFL. Hope it proves the negative comments wrong. Sure felt good in the hand. I'll be checking into the Armalaser for it also.

I've got a Millennium Pro .45 acp and its never had a hick-up yet. Mine was used when I got it and I've only shot about 200 rounds through it so far. Its very compact and easy to conceal too.

Hey All, I have had a Taurus PT145 for me and a PT111 for my wife for over 5 years now and never had a problem? Just Lucky I guess?

I don't think it's lucky. My wife's new Millennium Pro 9mm has been eating and spittiing out my hard cast Lead RN with out a hic-up. about 200 rounds now.

It also easily digests the Wolf "Performance" Hollow Point. Today I'm going to run a box or two of Hornaday TAP through it. If those function flawlessly, I will load up a couple magazines for her to carry.

Like I said before, the only tie my Millennium Pro .45 doesn't behave is when I've gone a few hundred rounds without cleaning it.

Cleaning it is so quick and easy, I just don't have an excuse not to after each shooting session.

Shot 50 rounds through my new PT145 today. Great to shoot and quite accurate. I took it from the box and cleaned it with some CLP. The ammo was Winchester FMJ. Very, very pleased with it. What a great deal! My son wants one now after shooting it.

Put 100 rounds of Remington JHP through the PT145 now and still no problems. Son bought one for himself, he liked mine so much. This is a good shooting, concealable package.

I gotta say, I'm really impressed with the Taurus Millennium Pro series. I'm not a semi-auto fan by any stretch of the imagination (I always said "Six for Sure is better than 10 on a Prayer"), but this PT 145 and my Wife's new 9mm have made me a believer. I still prefer the beauty and class of a revolver, and when I'm shooting for enjoyment, I'll grab a wheel gun every time. However the last two trips I had to make down to Detroit (I still feel like I need to shower again from it), I stuck the PT 145 Millennium Pro behind my hip and felt more comfortable because of it.

For me, that says ALOT!

I recently purchased a Taurus PT145 Pro (3rd generation) and have had no problems with it, trigger pull is smoothe and light, fits my hand very well and the balance feels great. This one just reads Millennium on the left side and PT145 Pro on the right side and has the Heinie sights on it. My 3rd Taurus and the best of them all. I guess you can get a bad apple in any gun manufactor that there is.

Recently got a millenium Pro 9mm. Great little gun. Only have 6 or 700 rounds through it and it eats whatever I throw at it. My wife loves it.

I picked one up on a spur of the moment when I saw it on sale at Bass Pro. I have fed it 250+ rounds of 230gr ball ammo, not one problem. I cleaned it very well as it came pretty greased up. The only fault I can find is it doe seem to shoot a little low, but it groups well. A deffinate bargain on a good solid gun.
