If you are shooting off the "bench",just let the gun ride the front rest. No hands on the forearm. On a big bore gun,be sure to have yourself positioned where,you are sitting upright as much as possible.Slouching down over the gun,will get you up close,and real personal with the scope
! Roll your shoulder into the recoil pad,and get a good weld between your cheek,and the comb on the stock,(this will keep the "ring around the eyeball") from occurring. Let the gun "free" recoil,and return the forearm to the same place on the front rest every time. Don't bear down on the gun,trying to keep it from recoiling up,just let it do it's thing,and you will be rewarded with consistency and see what the gun can really do. Hope this helps. Ron
