its like being surrounded by texas but with no women , a few IEDs and VBIEDs but its not as bad as i thought it would be

Let me know if you need anything and I'll mail it to you. I sent a bunch of care packages to my friend when he was there. He said he couldn't get much for hunting and gun magazines while he was in Anaconda. I'd ship him magazines and a little cocktaiil mix pretty regular.

well i really don't need that much right now , i guess two or three good M14 mags wouldn't hurt the ones i have are old as hell .

but if you guys would what i would really like is if a few of you would send a letter or card to my wife Jessica .
she is five months old with our first child (a baby girl , Isabelle)and we didn't get to spend last Christmas together and i'll be here for this one and the next so our first three christmas we will have spent apart and it really hurts her and there isn't much i can do about it. a card or letter that would make her happy would mean much more to me then anything you guys could send.

i know mac and digger maybe a few other people have my texas address ask them for it (hope you don't mind guys) i just don't want to post it up here because of all the anti-war people and what they do to the family's back home.

you guys want a report here it is:

its called a big sand box for a reason, thats all it is!!! the fight hasn't been that bad so far , nobody i know has been in anything big just yet a little small arms here and there but thats it. some of the iraq army have got messed up a few times a VBIED took out one of their check points today not a darn thing was left.

getting to use phones and the net isn't that hard its just finding time to do it . the food here is great and on the FOb its about as safe as ft hood. that being because this is , i think the biggest FOB in the north part of iraq ,its called Q-west just south of Mosul maybe 50-60k being one of only a few scout plt near by we get tasked out for just about everything . it seams like we are always on QRF or watching an other unit rebuild a bridge that that was blown up a month ago and of course our job is recon so we are always out at different towns talking to everybody, just always doing a lot of stuff that nobody really like to do

Have as good a Christmas as you can. My son spent Christmas there in Andabar Prov 2 years ago. It is good to have him and his family here this year. He'll be headed back your way in May and miss next Christmas with his wife and 3 kids. Our prayers and thoughts are with you.
