Proper grip hold for an Encore?
« on: December 15, 2007, 09:43:28 AM »
Was wondering?  When shooting your large caliber Encore pistol from the standing position?  Do you use both hands on the grip or one on the grip and the other holding the forearm?  With the weight I would think that the forearm grip might better help support but don't know if this is true for recoil control?

Personally, I shoot with both hands on the grip.  Left arm bent slightly with my elbow resting on my chest. ( read gut, my belly actually provides the rest)  Sounds odd, but thats the way I've always shot contenders and encores.....course its always better to find some sort of rest.

Two hands just like I'd shoot my handguns. I try to have something to rest the forearm on IE legs, shooting sticks, tree stand cross member, etc. That is how i do it in the field. If I'm just shooting for enjoyment I'm using a sand bag rest...
