I have one coming and was wondering if anybody has a good slug recommendation? Do these shoot as good as the Ultra's?

I have one. At 50 yds. Which is about as far as i can see with the open sights. With light field hybreds it will shoot 3" 3 shot groups. Good enough for the deer hunting i do. I have an ultra in 12 ga. i have not shot it yet.

We use the Winchester Partition Gold 3" rated at 2000fps. We also use the Federal Barnes Expander 3" rated at 1900 fps. We have decided to fore go using the Remington Premier Cor-Lokt Ultras as they have proved in our Tracker II's to be inconsistent when changing lot #'s.

Thanks for the replies. I have an older Simmons 2.5x20 shotgun scope laying around and gonna see about getting the barrel
drilled and tapped.

Precisely the reason we traded in our one USH. We now all have 20 ga. Tracker II's

I have one.Performance of the expensive highly touted sabot rounds was erratic and awful.I bought some regular Remington "Slugger" plain old lead slugs and with iron sights I can do an honest 4" group at 100 yards.

burntmuch,
I've noticed no leading but then I am really careful with thorough cleaning and bore cleaner.

I got the barrel in today. It locks up tight on my first new gun, a 1977 Topper 490.  I had to use a current production forearm tho as they have a different type mounting hole. Now to gather up some slugs and try her out.
