Need Help??
« on: December 15, 2007, 03:57:44 PM »
I may be on the wrong site, but here goes.

Somewhere last year, I saw a picture of a little girl (maybe 6 years old) that had just shot a hog with a 308 chambered TC. My interest is the gun. It was blued and walnut. It had a recoil reducer on the end of it. Seems it was a long pistol barrel with a shortened rifle stock.

I have a little girl and would like to maybe build something like this for her.

Does anyone know of this picture???

I think that 6 is a little young for a .308, but there is no doubt a girl out there that can do it. I would recommend that you get a Contender and cut a stock down to fit her. Then you can get a .22 rim fire barrel for her to practice with and a small varmint cal. like the .22 Hornet to shoot varmints with. It won`t handle a .308 but she could put a .357 Max. barrel on it for hogs.

When you say "long pistol barrel," make sure it's at least 16 inches long.  If it's any shorter than 16 inches, it's illegal to use it with a rifle stock.
