2008 Garmin Unit via the Rumor Mill

Garmin is reportedly coming out with a Colorado series of handheld gps units.  The units will have the bells and whistles.  Pre-load topographic maps are featured, along with the ability to display satellite photos.  Along with this is the High Sensitivity receiver. 

Competition is good and we will have to see what Garmin has come-up with.  You can expect to pay a higher price for the units, but they maybe cheaper in the long run because you are not buying topo software to load on your new gps.  You can expect to pay two to three hundred dollars more for the new unit.

This may push them ahead of the DeLorme unit, which does not have a High Sensitivity receiver.

sure wish theyd get them out. From what i hear they should have been out by now. Theyve got about a month to get my money or its going to be the delorne.

If they follow their normal pattern they are waiting on the Los Vegas electronic trade show to take advantage of the free press.  No difference then firearms manufactures showing their news toys at the shot show.

The race is on for high sensitivity receivers.   DeLorme Earthmate GPS PN-20 supposely using the same high sensitivety reciever as the new eTrex H models.  Looking at the DeLorme gpspn-20 package deals it is hard to beat.  I do not care for the button layout on the gpspn-20.
