The title of this thread is intended to get one's attention, and do not question my loyalty to these United States, as I believe it is truly the best place to live on earth. This question is do we DESERVE God's blessing, and I will use only two issues to pose this question. If one is an atheist, then perhaps it is a moot point.

Hitler executed approximately 6 million Jews in the years leading up to WWII. That's a lot of people, and God sent judgement down on him, or at least I believe he did.

The United States government has funded Planned Parenthood and other organizations involved in ABORTION, and the United States is responsible for the EXECUTION of 48,600,000+, "INFANTS" since 1973, and the number grows DAILEY. That averages out to about 1,430,400+ GUILTLESS SOULS, "A YEAR" we are sending BACK TO GOD, saying "SORRY GOD, WE DON'T WANT'EM.

We continually claim MORAL HIGH GROUND, thru out the world, but to steal a term from Christ Himself, "Ye shall know them by their fruits", hardly do our own morals as a nation appear to me, and obviously the world seem morally like, HIGH GROUND.

The question is; Do we as a nation any longer have the RIGHT, to ask God to BLESS America? Do we even DARE?

I pray daily that God bless us as a nation, I also pray that laws like roe vs wade be abolished. You surprise me Dee, I didn't know you didn't support killing babies, I figured you'd be all for it. Excellent question.  I ask it also.  My answer is that if we don't ask God to bless us (forgiveness is also a blessing) we are severing the one, ultimate tie to the salvation and future of our country, our loved ones, ourselves.  But, we have to deserve being forgiven.

I would say we are due for judgment of some type and are in fact a "post-Christian" country.  I love these United States, but I no longer ask for God's blessing but mercy and doing whatever it takes to bring us back to Him.

That old Devil, he comes to steal, kill, & destroy and to put the thought in ones head that they are unworthy is one of his favorite tricks.
We Are in the age of the Decline Of Moral Society and have been for a while...GB was put into office though because of Christians (and gun owners) but the decline of our society is going to continue.
There is not much that can be done about this and it was even fore-casted if you know what I mean. It is time to get on the right path and it is a narrow one that few will find.

Best thing to do IMO is to continue to pray not only for the nation but for your enemys as well. I even pray for the mis-guided Author behind the (GOLDEN COMPASS) movie that God would revel his presence to him
And show him the error of his ways. With God, all things are possible and this gent could be turned around just like Paul was on the road to Jericho.

I really do look for things to get worse and we will eventually lose the things that we now take for granted, Such as free speech on an Internet Forum like we are doing right now.
Yes, We need to continue to Pray. If you are saved and have truly repented, your flesh will still face daily temptations but to know God through Jesus Christ will let you find the way.

You surprise me powderman, in thinking that I would support such a thing. My Christian views are well known on the Bible Study forum I moderate on this site. Roe Vs Wade came along BEFORE Bush, and although I am dis-enchanted with him, he is not the crux of the problem, it is our own apathy.

I am not what most would call a religious person, but i do pray daily.
I believe that in my short lifetime, since i started remember any way that
even i can see more and more moral decay in this great country.
People just don't seem to care any more, people do things just to be recognized,
not caring what they are really doing to some one else.
I believe that their are lots of young politicians that believe in the right way, but
get caught up in the old "let me get mine" routine. Everyone seems to be in too big of a hurry to think of anyone else.

It is true that the Bible contains no verses prohibiting voluntary abortion. That, in and of itself, shows that it is a sin. The only references to abortion in the Bible are to coerced abortion as a punishment for nonbelievers, sinners and those who fail to recognize God’s chosen people. In Second Kings, we learn that Menahem, leader of the Israelites, smote all the people who refused to follow him “and all the women therein that were with child he ripped up” (2 Kings 15:16). Later, in Hosea, we learn that because the land of Samaria rejected God, “Samaria shall become desolate; for she hath rebelled against her God: they shall fall by the sword: their infants shall be dashed in pieces, and their women with child shall be ripped up” (Hosea 13:16). Hosea decided to carry out God’s vengeance on the people by killing the unborn babies carried by the heathen women. He promised to “slay even the beloved fruit of their womb” (Hosea 9:16).
Since killing their unborn children is one of the many punishments the followers of God have inflicted on nonbelievers, it is obviously not an act any True Christians® may undertake for themselves by choice. Furthermore, humans have no business performing abortions because that is God’s role. After all, it was God who killed all the unborn children on the planet (other than those of Noah’s immediate family) when He drowned everyone with the Great Flood (Genesis 7:23). And it was God who inflicted abortion on all the pregnant women when he rained fire and brimstone on Sodom and Gomorrah, killing everyone who lived therein (Genesis 19:24-25). And it was God who killed the unborn babies during the countless plagues and pestilence he inflicted on the planet throughout history. Abortion is obviously an act God reserves for punishing those groups of people who rub him the wrong way. It is not an act to be performed at human whim.
Finally, friends, there is absolutely no reason to opt for abortion when God allows us, and in some instances, orders us, to rid ourselves of troublesome children after they’re born. Wasn’t it God who said, “Happy shall he be, that taketh and dasheth thy little ones against the stones” (Psalms 137:9)? Why insist on prenatal killing when the post-natal killing options are so widespread? The Bible authorizes us to kill just about any child who becomes burdensome. According to Deuteronomy, if a child is unruly and disobedient, we not only have the option of killing him, but it is mandatory that he be stoned to death (Deuteronomy 21:18-21). The same is true for a child who speaks to us with foul language (Exodus 21:17). Or a child who hits us (Exodus 21:15).
The bottom line is that only coerced abortion is allowed in the Bible, not abortion on demand. And God, in his infinite compassion, provided us with the means of eliminating troublesome children once they are born and we know for sure they are unwanted. So tell your skeptical acquaintances to put away the coat hangers, once and for all, and let the child be born, but have stones and the Proverbial rod handy, just in case.

Intentionally killing a human being is murder, plain and simple. Abortion is murder, and it should be everybody's business. Babies can't defend themselves, we as  adults are responsible for their well being. Pro choice means death for a child. There are only 2 choices, life, or death, there is no in between. Killing babies is big business. Millions of $ are made each year by the butchers that kill these babies. The bodies are sold for experimentation, fetal tissue, etc. Fetus is a term used by the pro death crowd. Sounds better to say, I terminated a fetus, than telling the truth by saying, I killed my baby. Anybody think these butchers do it for free? The female in question spends thousands of $ to have her child killed, usually because they don't want to be bothered, I refuse to call em mothers. Kinda like hiring a hitman to kill an enemy, both are guilty of murder, the butcher, and the female in question. I can hear em on judgement day, UHHHHHHHH, you mean that was a baby I killed. Wouldn't want to be in their shoes when they finally meet God face to face. POWDERMAN.

Since individuals refuse to protect life, then it is the duty of the govt, meaning all of us, to protect the lives of the innocent children. These children are innocent of any wrong doing and have never known sin, yet they are condemned to death mostly because they are inconvenient. The Anti Christian Liars Union, libs, and the dumcrap party support a womans right to commit murder. Roe vs wade just gave them an excuse to kill legally. The butchers that kill these innocents should be stripped of their license and NEVER be allowed to practice their trade again, and I certainly wouldn't allow them to play doctor. The butcher shops should be closed down. Can anyone explain to me how people trained in healing and saving lives could intentionally kill babies?? Money??? You bet. Big bucks fast, unless a woman was completely stoopid they would never see them again. Millions of Americans go overseas to adopt babies, not necessary. There would be plenty right here to adopt.

That's the point TM7. EVERY PRESIDENT, and EVERY CONGRESSMAN, and EVERY SENATOR, that has been elected SINCE ROE V WADE, has done NOTHING, to stop the killing. NOT ONE! (yes I'm yelling)

You may defend ANY one of these, PAST or PRESENT, politicians, whether they be Senator, Congressman, or President, that have said they are PRO-LIFE, and LOOK at what they have done to stop the carnage. NOTHING! They talk about it when running from office, and then the issue DIES, once they take office.

They (senate and congress) pass bills that continue to "fund abortion", and the PAST OR PRESENT, President signs them.

Jeremiah was a prophet, but he was also a man, just like us in the sense of our creation, and here is what God says about WHEN that (life) begins.

Jeremiah Chapter 1 verse 5. BEFORE I formed thee in the belly I KNEW THEE; and BEFORE THOU CAMEST FORTH OUT OF THE "WOMB" I sanctified thee, and I ordained thee a prophet unto the nations.

As I said, Jeremiah was conceived in the same manner as you and I. God seems to think were are whom we are at ALL stages of conception, and before.

we elect our govt. so we assume it represents the wishes of most of us ! And that's the sad part , we allow the bad to take place so we won't have to fight it ! the fact is we are wasting the wealth of good God gives us ! Its us not Bush ! or any other scape goat we can name !

We indeed are in trouble as a nation, and few will admit it. I do not see politicians as scape goats but, more as false profits. They NEVER produce what they prophecy, they will do if elected.
As far as the scripture stating (if that is what your referring to) saying that if one is saved (husbands and wives) the other will be, it doesn't if used in proper context. We must instead hope for "revival of Christian values", and a stoppage of voting for business as usual, even if it means for a few years voting for third party candidates that we know will not win. Both parties Republican and Democrat, reek with corruption and lying. Our cute little names for each whether it be Repuklican or Dumbocrat, while showing disdain, do NOTHING to rectify the situation. JMO

SHOOTALL my point is some prophets DO tell lies. They are FALSE PROPHETS, and politicians whom tell us they are going to do this or that if elected, are lying, as they either know they can't or won't deliver if elected. I reject the changing your mind excuse, and yes, I know you were being sarcastic.
They GIVE THEIR WORD, and then they break it, and we keep right on taking the lesser of two evils. I think we should vote a different party until the Dem's and the Repubs finally realize we are tired of their business as usual, or until other Americans get on the band wagon and we get a much needed third party in D.C.
