Henry Less
« on: December 21, 2007, 09:36:04 AM »
My 357 mag Henry only lasted about 4 months, now someone else has acquired it, after kicking my front door down and taking few other guns/things.  So should I replace it with the 357mag or step up to a 44 mag? I still have my marlin 357 mag.   It was in plain sight above a door.  Odd they just took four guns and even left guns sitting beside the ones they took.

Did you have insurance on it? That sucks. I hope the best comes out for you and report it to the cops you might get it back. I would go with the 44mag.

Yes, I did  have insurance, It will pay everything but a $500, and its going to fix all the damage and I should be able to replace one or two guns.

Were the guns in open sight, or in a vault? ???

That sounds like it sucks. At least it isn't a complete loss and the insurance will cover something.

They were in open sight, Kinda in a stowage room,  but I had been talking about buying a vault.  The good thing is that my wife and child wasn't home when it happened. By the way it happened between 1pm and 5 pm in the middle of the day on a pretty busy road.

Man that sucks. Best of luck for getting some money back for the guns.

Ever thought about the new 30-30?

I bounced it around and decided to get another 357 mag.  I just like the way they shoot. I also order a 22 golden boy. My Ruger 10/22 was another gun taken.   Of course I've ordered them from the wal-mart.  They are so much lower in price. They said a week to three weeks before they come in.

Get a big dog.  Or at least make it look like you have a big dog.
Bowl on the ground with fresh water next to an empty one.
Glad no one was injured.  Hope they catch they guy.
Good luck.
The henry 22 action is so smooth.  You will be happy.

You will like both of them. It sounds like by your user name you really liked your 357. The .22 is great and it will have the metal sites and barrel band if you got the octagon barrel in a Golden boy. You will be happy with both. So I imagine the law has no leads on your other guns that were stolen?

I'm still waiting on my 357 to come in.  The 22 came in but it is on the same ticket/order.  Is there a shortage of 357mags big boys?

Not that I know of. Call the CS dept back and they should have one out. It seems like it has been too long for their CS.

Talked to the manager today again and he told me that there had been a mix up,  but the gun was shipped Thursday.  I should be able to pick it up on Monday.
