Let's see, Ive take ground squirrls, tree squirrels, ground hogs and coyote - I shot a pig once and put it down - That would have been the biggest. it was about 400 lbs on the hoof but it was a domestic (HA!) pig. Darn thing just about took my leg off. It was shot at 35 yards through the head and fell where he was stopped, staring at me.

I was gonna try it on a range bull but thought better of it when he wasn't impressed with the noise it made the first time.

Hodgdon, Lyman, Speer, Sierra, Hornady = reliable resources
so and so's pages on the internet = not reliable resources
Alway check loads you find on the internet against manuals.
NEVER exceed maximum listed loads.

Small doe taken at about 40 yds with a 170 gr. cast SWC out of a 10" TC Contender.  Deer ran off and curled up and died.

I shot three wild hogs with a 4" Ruger Security Six when I was 14 or 15.  Using 11.6gr of Herco behind a 158gr Keith style semiwadcutter, checked.
They all weighed about 150 pounds or so.

165lb 6pt., Whitetail  with a S/W 686 6inch 2x scope......  This deer was 30yrs out then ran right at my ground blind.  Let a 125 silvertip go at about 15 feet right in the center of his chest.  It went about 10 feet more

history channel had a bit on "Magnums"
They Said that there was a priest in the norht hunting with eskimos and they killed a 2000# walrus with one. No idea about shot placement, but they did say oneshot. I don't know how touh they are, but I would opt for something a lot larger.
Cheers,
