T/C Encore 338-06
« on: December 21, 2007, 01:34:02 PM »
Well, I finally bought me an Encore. I got a factory T/C barrel in 338-06 for elk hunting here in Idaho. I am familiar with the cartridge but not with the Encore, but the possibilities seem nearly endless with the caliber selection. I would like to know others thoughts on the Encore. Thanks, Bob.

I like mine so much I am selling off my Handi Rifles and my Howa 1500 so I can go strictly Encore.
It just handles and shoots very sweet.

I just picked up an Encore also but I haven't decided on my first barrel yet. I'm torn between the 338-06 and the 35 Whelen for my moose and elk hunting. Then I need a 25-06 for mule deer, 22-250 for varmints and.........Oh the list just keeps getting bigger. I see a divorce in my future.

I have two Encores one I keep as a pistol and the other a rifle.  Only one pistol barrel so far and 4 rifle barrels.  In the not too distant future a 12ga bird barrel will round out the set.  Then maybe 2 or 3 more pistol barrels.....  Did anyone ever tell you that Encores can get out of hand?   Anyhow, I love mine.  They shoot great and look elegant, like a Sharps.  Yeah, that's what I need, a 45-70 barrel.  Well, gotta go now, I need to look up a few things.  Encore things.
I aim to please - but often miss.
