T/C Custom shop ideas
« on: December 22, 2007, 02:39:25 AM »
OK out on a limb and for chits and giggles on this one but...

Do you think the T/C custom shop would make a Encore barrel or maybe an Omega barrel with a 1/66 twist for round balls (no QLA) or a 1/48 barrel for roundballs and conicals?

Or a .54 Omega with the 1/66 twist ?

I think that it would be fun shooting roundballs in an Encore or Omega with out the fast twist that are now made.

What do you think?

I will have to call them and see what a barrel would cost me if they could/would make it.

If it's not listed they will not make it. They are not a true custom shop but more of a semi custom shop in that all they really offer is what's on their list. Basically if it was ever made by TC the custom shop will do it even tho TC no longer offers it. But you can't just pull a choice out of the air and have them do it like a true custom barrel maker will do.

I didn't say it WASN'T listed cuz I didn't look, just that if it's not listed it's not offered.

That's in CA right? That sucks. I would look up custom gun makers to find what he wants for the twist and conicals in the encore.

OK what has California come up with now? A lead ban??? How can you use a muzzleloader if you cannot use a lead bullet?? Or does it have to be plated so you won't get any lead in your system by handling a pure lead bullet?? Sure glad I don't live in the goofy CA state.

They banned all lead even in a .22 they claimed it was killing some bird. You can only use all copper or a non toxic substitute for lead.

Yeah that one. If it dies it dies nothing they can do in that over populated state.

  California  Sucks !!!

I left Sacramento Ca.  after living there 39  years TOOOO long .

They stopped just about all the logging to  help protect the Spotted Owl , which is not endangered ,  but some animal right group said it was.  They also banned the hunting of mountain lions and the deer herds has suffered . Can you  think of a better way to stop hunting than to ban Lead .  They have spend  millions of dallors  on the California condor and the dumb birds have landed in parking lots and drank anti freeze  and died . Are they going to ban antifreeze too .  Sorry for the rant , but i am sooooo glad not to live there anymore !!!!!!!

My dad used to live in North Hollywood California. That was about 50 years ago. He was a old SC boy and after he got there he hated it and came back. I wouldn't go there. How about ban Animal rights groups because they are in dangering hunters and people in general.

Came in the the dog ran in at the same time and knocked it off the table onto the floor. It bent the bell and I think it may have affected the seals and I don't know If Bushnell will fix it. I haven't had the scope for a month yet. Anyway thats in the Optics Forum if anyone wants to help me out with that. As far as this goes on the Encore and Omega you might be able to find a custom gunsmith and that's about it. T/c won't do it. Sorry.
