Base Layer
« on: December 22, 2007, 06:05:18 AM »
I am looking for a wicking base layer for stand hunting in Saskatchewan.  It also has to contribute to my overall layered garments for warmth.  Is there something out there that works that isn't as expensive as Under Armour?  I have been wearing an Ullfrotte 200 weight Wool underwear top.  Maybe it is the best that can be had?  I am always searching for more layering options for the 12 hour sit in the Cold Brrrrrr  treestand.  After that I have a Polartec 300 weight jacket,  a KIng of the Mountian Bushman Shirt and a wind proof white fleece shell.    Thanks  Buckfever

When it's cold my base layer is a set of fleece top and pants from DuoFold. It's the warmest thing I've ever felt on my skin and really adds to the warmth. I've tried a lot of base layers but never found anything to match it.
