Red Dots, Suggestions
« on: December 23, 2007, 03:43:41 AM »
Santa is coming....well, I already know what he is brining. It's a combo of gift cards for Cabela's and some cash (I call it money that falls from the sky---so I spend it on stuff that I would normally not get). So, I have been wanting to buy a "Red Dot". Well, I guess it's a red dot. One that kind of looks like this http://theopticzone.com/detail.aspx?ID=3569  Now, I don't want a "scope" or "tube" type as I would like to mount this to my 1911 for the summer action pistol shoots that I go to.

And, I would also like to double duty the sight....and move it to my shotgun for turkey season in the fall.

So, magnification is not an issue. The one's that have different reticle's are kind of neat (I have seen these but do not remember the brand names). I don't want a cheap one as I want it to hold center on a 45acp as well as a 12 gauge.

So....any suggestions from experienced useres out there?

Thanks much.

I have a tube type on my Ruger target slabside .22 pistol. It came with the pistol. I have a Trijicon Reflex sight on my 626 .44 mag and like it more than the tube type.
check this type out:  http://www.burrisoptics.com/fastfire.html

They weren't available when I bought my Trijicon sight.
