Went to Gaylans tonight and they had a used SS Contender with a Super 14 SS 30-30 barrel with a Uncle Mikes shoulder holster for $330. Priced seemed right to me. Gun was in great shape. I am going to sell the barrel, grip and forearm. Get me an unfinished thumb hole carbine stock and finish it myself. Caliber is yet to be determined. It will be my first Contender in Carbine form, I am looking forward to finishing it, although it will be a few months.
