Anyone use Ball-ets?

I've never used the Buffalo Company Ball-ets, but am curious as to how well the perform...or not.

My concerns are with accuracy and performance for hunting.
Your opinions and experiences are appreciated.

Buffalo Bullet is no longer producing bullets, so you're limited to stock on hand if you have a source for em.

I tried a box and got good accuracy, but couldn't see much advantage over my home cast round balls.

I have the Hornady Pa. conical & they are really about the same. I have decent groups at 50 yds. but haven't tried them beyond that.

i use them in a cva frontier carbine with a 1:48" twist. i get good accuracy out to 100 yards and performance has been good on deer and groundhogs. if you have them or have access to any remaining ones i say use them.

Since the Ball-ets are no longer in production, I suppose inquiring about their performance stats is of no consequence.
I'll stick to the lead conical "buffalo bullet" styled bullets or maybe the lead version of the Power Belts. Which ever is most accurate and has a hollow point for good expansion.

I used Ball-ets for 4 or 5 years, until I tried Great Plains Bullets.  I loved how well those Ball-ets loaded in my Hawkin, very easy.  Accuracy at 50 was excellent in my gun.  Much better than I could get the patched round balls to perform.  I shot 4 deer with the Ball-ets, each shot resulted in a dead deer after 40-60 yards.  I was always curious to see how well they mushroomed but never recovered one, all shots were pass throughs in the chest cavity.  To me Ball-ets were pretty cheap and a better alternative to round balls, so I liked them.  To be fair, I didn't experiment with different powder charges, patch thicknesses, etc for the round balls as much as I should have.  Now I'm just amazed how accurate the Great Plains Bullets are out of my flintlock out to 100 yards, so that's what I shoot today.

I gave "ballettes" a try in my T/C New Englander in .54.They did badly in the accuracy department so I went to swaged round balls and found my good load.I have about a half box of .54 caliber ballettes sitting in my range box.Anybody want them?

Wow, bad news I love them in my T/C Hawken with a 31 inch 1:66 barrel!! I wonder why they stopped making bullets? I guess it is the Hornady PA Comical for me now.

To add: Gun Week Volume 43, Issue 1913 dated Jan 15. 2008. New version of the Ball-et with a lube called "Slick Silver" . Apparently they don't have a web site, but the phone is 362-944-0322 and the address is Buffalo Bullet Co, 12637 Los Nietos Rd, Unit-A, Dept GWK, Santa Fe Springs, CA, 90670.
I have used the 45/ 200 grain and was pleased with it, my only connection.

Buffalo Bullet has a toll free number, 800-423-8069, give em a call, they should direct you to a retailer that may have em in stock,  I did an online search, everyone that showed their stock quantity was out of stock or backordered, but there are a bunch that don't tell if they're in stock or not, someone may have old stock.

That is confusing as BB themselves said they were stopping making bullets and now I hear they are making more versions of them? Very confusing to say the least Maybe they are going to sub out the work now? Either way, the only bad thing about them was the lube, hopefully the new stuff is less sticky!!
