When I am not packing an Encore or Tender pistol this is my go deer rifle. Loaded with IMR4350 and speer 145gr bullets this 280 Rem. is a smack em on thier butt rifle. Before shooting the TC's I hunted with 7MM Mags in Remingtons and Rugers. The barrel is FRO 26" tapered matte black finish. The stock and forearm are from Gunstocks Inc. I cut the finger grooves and a right hand palm swell into the grip, and Schnabeled the forearm. I shortened the stock to 13" LOP because when using it I usually have on heavy winter dressings. Then give it a satin finish. It is topped with a 3X9 Burris scope sit in a Redfield 3 ring base. Accuracy out of this barrel with my loads are 3/4" and under at 100yds.

Ummm.......looks like a right hander to me.  might want to take a closer look there dancoman but then again what do I know I'm a hanidiholic

No tricks, it's a righty!!!

You can get a stock very similar called an ambidextrous ( righty/lefty)  I cut the finger grooves into the grip and did the finish.

I swear I havn't drank in over 9 years. Tonite it sure looks like a righthand. Last night I was convinced (or maybe I just convinced myself) it was a lefty.
Either way it's a shape looking rig.

I stumbled accross this old thread in a search. This is an awesome looking stock and I would like to do something similar with the finger grooves. For those who have done this before, how difficult is it to cut finger grooves like this? Do you basically just make some marks on the stock for where the grooves are to go and how deep you want them and then start removing material with a file and eye-ball it from there? Or is there a more "scientific" way to do it  ?

To cut my finger grooves I use a hollow tube wood rasp 1/2" dia. from Lowes. I figure where I want the grooves then ruff them in with the rasp. I then use a dremal tool with a flex shaft and a 1/2 drum sander with 60 grit drum to do the final shape. This is where you need to go easy because if not careful the drum sander will run with you. Work the grooves you cut with the wood rasp slowly widening them and to the death you like. Do not try and cut the grooves from the start with the Dremal. Unless you are very lucky or good its not going to work because its constantly trying to pill in the direction of the rotation.
