Impressions of the Taurus Gaucho?

Looking at buying a new one in .357 mag for $270. Are they a good deal?

I know a couple of people who shoot them in Cowboy Action and really like them. Like most of they competition, they benefit from a good action job.

The Gaucho has gotten mixed reviews. Apparently, if you get a good one, it's an excellent revolver. But some folks have reported all kinds of issues with theirs, and Taurus' repair has been problematic (probably because their repair facility has been overwhelmed with Thunderbolt problems).

By the way, Taurus has discontinued the Gaucho.

I just picked up a pair of 'discontinued' Gauchos from CDNN.  $300 each (plus shipping, plus dealer FFL fee, plus tax!).  I can find no fault with them.  The action is great and they shoot well.  I got a pair of polished SS with 5 1/2" barrels and consecutive serial numbers.  I'll buy another when I have the chance.  In fact I have.  I have a blued 5 1/2" (that I will have cut to 4") on Lay away at Jays.  Found it sitting the in the used gun case for $225.  Can't pass it up for that price.  44 Man
