Buying Handi's in PA
« on: December 29, 2007, 04:08:33 AM »
Does anyone know if Virginia or Maryland residents are allowed to buy firearms in PA?

Virginia residents CANNOT buy in Maryland.

Virginia residents CAN buy long guns in WV but NOT handguns.

A couple of us here are going on a trip to PA in the near future and just wanted to know if we could buy firearms if we found Handi's to buy.

Thanks, Mike

Yes, long arms are allowed to be purchased by nonresidents while in PA.

You may find a dealer though that is ignorant of the law.  SSN isn't required on 4473, but it will help your Insta-Check go smoother.

Absolutely, Mike.   That would be great.

I probably buy most of my long guns in PA.  There are more gun shops in Pa. than in Md. and the prices are often better.  One negative is that Pa. dealers charge $5 for the Insta-check.  There's no charge in Md.
