Traditions 45 Cal Range Report
« on: December 29, 2007, 09:40:09 AM »
Just went to the range to test out my Christmas present, a Traditions 45 cal muzzle loading pistol.  Although the recommended patches were .015, I could not find that size and bought .020.  Could not get the ball down the barrel.  Next time I will follow the instructions.

I did have some 240 grain TC maxiballs.  I shot them with 35 to 20 grain of FFFG.  No misfires, and my last group of the day at 25 yards was measured at 2" center to center.  If a blacken the front brass sight I think I can shoot better groups. Only cleaned the barrel twice during the 20 shots, and it was with spit.  I was impressed with the accuracy and the fact that I had no misfires.

Can't wait till I can find some .015 patches.
