Say, just curious but, is the trapping season open in your parts?  I'm pretty sure that the skin and fur will be worthless from any animal taken this time of the year.

i dont know,i just thought it sounded kool i guess,if i catch poachers on my land, even though i accidentally poached last night by trapping a coon out of season,i cant believe those things have a season, they are everywhere, too many of em,but someone shot a doe and a turkey out of season on my land,so if i catch em,their in for the long haul, ill probably just scream my brothers name so hell think im getting killed or something, when he runs out and sees that i caught the culprit hell help me beat him down, cuz i dont like poachers, and then hog tie em up and call the game warden

You, in your original post indicated that you are 15 years old.  Many of us on this and other trapping forums wish to help young fellows...to become better trappers and better citizens.  Braging, boosting and any indication of unethical actions, especially those dealng with, how should I say "woodsman" type activites will not get you anywhere.

You are welcome here and we will do our best to help, but we do need to know that you are going to do your best to represent trappers and sportsman in a good light.  Think on this a bit before you type...it's good advice!

hmmmmmmmmm, yeah,i see where your coming from.but the thing is,the reason im so mad at this person for shootin that doe and turkey,is because 1. its out of season,2.because since we are the only people 5 miles every which way,the game warden is pointing the finger at us,and 3.because he doesnt have permission to hunt on my land,i wouldnt care if he just asked, dont go poachin though, see where im coming from, well i appreciate it your help but so far i havent had any, cept for that little tip you just gave me,i really need to know how to make fur stretchers,i dont have enough to buy any so i got some dead animals over here just sitting in my bath tub getting a looooooooooong bath

Skin your animals and freeze the hides--though they are worthless at this time of year. Tom

coondog i'll help ya out with  some strecher info but if you want to be a trapper first thing you got to know  is all  your regs by  heart trappin out of season fur and wastin it   is no good even if there is lots of coon in your aera.  Asfor info on strechers go to the north american fur auctions website www.NAFA.ca  they have a book with all strecher sizes  i'm not sure if you can download  it but i  know they will   mail it to you.let me  repet again summer fur is  worthless and should not be taken.

yes  it  is free  and there is not much readin it is pics of the  sizes  and demisions for all  the diffrent species. as for summer  fur it is worthless  because  fur consists of 2  parts  gaurd  hair and underfur gaurd  hair is the longhairs and the underfur  is the short fur underneth  summer  fur lacks gaurdhair and also hasvery  light  underfur these pelts  are reffered  to  as   being unprime.as for readin  you could learn loads of info from a good book such as trapping farmland furbearers by berine  barringerit  covers   all the animals  yould would  catch in tenn. it cost  me $12.95 iknow you  said you got  no  money  or job but if you can  find a way to earn some for this book it would pay you back 100 timesover in the  fall  when the   fur primes up if i were  you i'd  pull my traps and try  to  earn  some cash.

Hey guys, my spidey senses are tingling like crazy.
I think that this is not a kid, I think it is an anti acting like a kid who has no clue. Tryin to make us look bad.
Can't proove it, don't need to.
Every few months there is a "kid" who comes on the forums and talks like a goober untill he gets tossed. I think this is the same one. He sounds exactly the same.
If I am wrong, oh well, it matters not because people like this are not a reflection of the average trapper and If this is really a kid, then he needs to get a clue and pull the old mellon out of the old duffle bag.
He is not a nice kid and I have talked to a few other people who have gotten emails from him and they wouldn't talk like that to a sailor.
