There I was on the second stage of an IDPA match this morning. Everything was going great till the "Load & Make Ready" command. I inserted a mag and cycled the slide, holstered and waited for the buzzer. On the buzzer I made one of my lightning fast draws

and pressed the trigger as the sights aligned----------------and nothing happened! Quick tap, rack, press, nothing. Same for the second tap, rack, press! I cleared the weapon and retreated to a safe area for a quick inspection. Pulled my tool kit out of the range bag, and the punch that I ALLWAYS carry is gone!! Fortunately I had a set of allen wrenches with me that sufficed as a punch. A quick inspection revealed what I suspected, a broken trigger spring. As I had no spare parts, or the extra Glock I usually carry, I had to use my Pro Carry to finish the match. I learned two things today! Always have spare parts for the ones most likely to fail, and always be sure to have the proper tools in your range bag!! It only took me a couple of minutes to replace it now that I'm home. If I had parts and tools in my range bag I could have had the gun back up and running before the squad finished the second stage. Guess I just take the Glocks for granted as they rarely break!
