« on: December 31, 2007, 08:42:03 AM »
I know est  that a lot of you guys are shooting 3F in your hunting load (WHY??) I'm using 2F, am I at a disadvantage? or is it... that 3F shoot better in your gun and loads, just curious?? O-ya one more ? If you were and already switch nipple what did you go with HOT nipple or SPLIT fire or MUSKET nipple, witch will give me the best ignition in damp weather??

I chose to use 3f cuz a tad less powder is needed for the same velocity and it shoots a tad cleaner.

I like the pyrodex P it is the same as 3f black. I was using RS in my 45 and I was getting hang fires. I switched and my 45 has not done it since. I like Hot Shot nipples and have them on all my rifles.

I use Goex 3F and Pyro P. Less powder quicker firing. Gives more velocity at same throw weight than RS or 2f.

Either the HotShot or SpitFire nipples will help with hotter ignition in damp weather if one is offered that fits your traditional rifle.

One species has evolved into obese cranial fatheads with thin skin in comparison that whines about anything and everything as their shield against their environment. Meus
