H&R US Springfield Stalker .45

I am gonna put this here as it is an H&R and might get more hits here or move it if I'm wrong . Anyone else have one of these I just picked one up and am looking for input for loads and bullets to try still waiting for it in the mail so I have not slugged it yet . It's not the Officers model but just plain jane and will be a shooter not a wall hanger. Any one played with one of these?Kurt

I had an original and a repo. the original was a 50 the repo a 45. I used a lee 45cal mini ball mold and 65 grs.if memory serves me. mine had an evil trigger pull the original was ok I used a 50 mini cast from a lee mold and 70-75  gr, of 3f  they shoot ok  deer at 100yds once  i did'nt mess with the 45 a bunch the sights on both stunk. they wher to give to indians as trade guns for hunting and made up by H&R in the late 1800s from surlus musk parts . I for get my round ball loads

I know this is an OLD post....but I gotta make the statement that the 45 H&R Stalker that I had was a TOP NOTCH RIFLE in ALL respects....
 sure wish times didnt git hard which forced me to sell it......Live & Learn...regrets are rough.....sure wish I could find another  ~
