Changing scope to a 1.5x5
« on: January 01, 2008, 08:47:19 AM »
My current setup is a CZ550 with CZ rings and a Leupold 1.75-6x32mm.  I'm finding that the current scope doesn't have enough vertical adjustment for my taste.  According to my paperwork, the 1.75 has an adjustment range of 50 MOA.  As it is the scope is pretty much maxed out...I'm hitting dead-on at 100 yards with 235 grainers, but still hitting low with the 300s.  Don't have enough room to adjust for, say, 1.5" high at 100 yards with the 235s.  Or, for that matter, simply getting the 300s on at 100.

So, I'm gonna switch to the Leupold 1.5-5x20mm as it has an adjustment range of 120 MOA.  Not losing much in magnification (1.1 actual magnification high, .4 low) so not too bad there.  Should be here on the 8th.

Well...worked out great!  Plenty of elevation adjustment now.  Centered the reticle before shooting.  Rifle's now sighted in for 300 grain bullets.  Will make scope adjustments as necessary for 270 and 235 grainers.  The pic is of a 9 shot string at 100 yards, shot today.  Trying to blame the lack of accuracy on the thick German #4 reticle, but I think it's me  :-\  :

When I first started posting pics, they did the same thing.   GBO recommends uploading your pics to 'myhostedpics.com', then post them here.   That way they can be seen whether you're logged in or not.   Good shootin.
