I heard that CVA will have 12 and 20 ga rifled slug barrels for the OE for 2008. Anyone else here this?

Email Mark at CVA, then let us know what's new, his email is in the sticky at the top of this forum, be sure to put Graybeard Outdoors in the subject line so he'll answer promptly. ;)

Here was Mark's reply!

John ,

Thanks for asking.  We are not introducing any new chambering for 2008.  We have offered 20 and 12 gauge barrels in the past but only in smooth bore.  Several customers have requested the rifled barrels but there is no plan to produce any at this time.  Our tests have indicated that the standard smooth bore barrel gives very good performance with premium quality slugs when used with the extended rifled choke.

Regards,

Mark

Still hoping that they will offer something new some time in 2008.  :-\

I would hope that they would offer something in the WSM family.  I know they don't for my encore and they don't for my optima elite.  The reason I have these guns was so that I would not have buy more guns.  But if one of them doesn't make a WSM barrel I may just have to buy another gun.  Oh darn:)

You won't see any short mag barrels for the OE, they aren't available for TC Encores for the same reason, too much bolt thrust for a break barrel. MGM and Bullberry used to make them for the Encore, but recalled them and quit making them.

I don't see why a anyone would want a WSM in a single shot. I would look into the new X Bolt for a WSM from Browning. But not to get off topic I hope to hear more soon.
