which fly ?
« on: January 02, 2008, 02:35:18 PM »
My son is going to creede, colorado this july 4th and he's gonna try his hand at fly fishing there. I'm a novice myself at fly fishing in colorado. I've done some fly fishing here in kansas for bass and bluegill in farm ponds and small lakes and have had a blast. We are going out the the city lake here by home and I'm going to show him  how to cast and get him praticing with small popper foir some hu.nker bluegill. But have not had any experience in colorado any help on which kind of fly would be great fella's. We would appriciate any help before hand maybe a fly form cabelas or sportsmanwharehouse or gander mountain would be fine as he is planning on to learn how to tie flies in the future! thannks again....1stshot

Try looking at this web site.  I have been using these flies for about 10 or 12 years and they are made in Colorado.   I fly fish the White River with these flies below Bullshoales Dam in Arkansas near Mountainhome. In Canada I use these flies to catch Smallmouth Bass.  Here at home I fly fish 99% of the time and use these. I have caught Bass, Bluegills, Crappies and even Catfish.
