Midsouth bulk bullets

Any one here purchased the bulk midsouth bullets.  I am looking at the 50 grain.  Looking to place them in the 223.  I don't think bunnies will care if they are hit with a cheap bullet.

I bought 500 in 55gr a little while back. They don't shoot like Sierra bullets but they are OK as a bullet for a target rich environment. I bought them to check them out and use as a plinking bullet. They are a good value, decent quality bullet for the price.

My opinion and results are like what Old English said. Out of my Bushmaster varmiteer they just don't group like I know that rifle can shoot. I've tried a number of powder charge variations with H4895 and WW748 and all results are about the same---acceptable but not outstanding.

When I would go Pdog shooting, I would buy the cheapest bulk bullets I could find (no fmjs). They might not give one hole accuracy --altho sometimes they did-- but they would definitely shoot to minute of pairie dog.  Usually they are over-runs or add-on orders so which company actually provides them may vary. 
When you're loading up several hundred rounds, a few pennies a round can add up. I never tried to do any work up for them, I just took my best work-up for a like weight bullet and used that.  Maybe a click or two of scope adjustment but otherwise they didn't seem to mind.

Exactly right!  There are no Prairie Dogs around here, but I do hunt Ground Hogs.  The maximum range I could get a shot at is about 400 yards. The longest shot I've ever hit one was around 300 yards +/-.   I'm very pleased with anything that groups on either side of MOA.  Not difficult to achieve with bulk bullets and much less expensive.

I bought 2,000 of the 55 gn. bullets. I loaded 5 rounds with the starting load of 2230-C and shot a .700 group at 100 yrds. with my AR. Since they are for off hand shots at running coyote I figured that was good enough and did no load development. They have killed 2 coyotes to date. One was shot through the rib and left a 3 1/2 to 4 in hole out the other side. The other was hit through the front shoulder into the chest and the bullet never exited. These were the cheapest ones and while I would not use them for bench rest shooting, they are very good for the price.

Catfish what did the midsouth bullets set you back?  Used to get Seirra rejects but they have got the price up and seldom have the weight I want.  Thanks SN
