Laser sight/weapon light pressure switch attachment?
« on: January 03, 2008, 02:13:48 AM »
What should I use to attach the pressure switch pad to the fore end of a synthetic stock carbine (Hi Point)? Hot glue? Super glue? Silicone?

Thanks. -WSJ

I would consider whatever the directions or manufacturer says. If they don't specify I would consider duct tape. I's very reliable and yet can be removed fairly readily. Hot glue is out as the vinyl switch cover may fail. Super glues(cyanocrylic)  glues may chemically damage the cover or the surface it's being attached to. Silicone may work but the duct tape is likely more reliable..

Thanks.  Someone on another forum suggested self adhesive velcro, which is what I'll probably try.  As for the manufacturer (AimSHOT), they didn't say one way or the other.  I was a bit disappointed.  I guess I could email them for suggestions.  Oh well, one way or the other it isn't the end of the world, it's a hobby.  -WSJ

Well I got the AimSHOT pressure switch for their Xenon Illuminator flashlight and it came with velcro.  How 'bout that - question answered.  -WSJ
