I asked the same question on another post. Is the VTR a varmint rifle or a tactical rifle? One is used to shoot 2lb animals and the other to shoot 200 lb humans. It doesn't seem logical to me that the same caliber/rifle can fit both needs.
Anything "tactical" seems to sell these days. I mean there are tactical flashlights, gloves, shoes, etc. Is there an infatuation with "shooting at people"? Is the "tactical" game now the new Wild West of my youth. Has the Lone Ranger turned "tactical"? What is the appeal with tactical stuff? Does the American public now dream of hunting other people?
You guys need to calm down in the tactical argument... how many times do we have to see it's just a word used in marketing?
The chances of a VTR being used as a sniper or combat rifle are about 0. That isn't what it was designed for.
And why in the hell does tactical need to mean killing humans? Seriously, tactical means that it has to do with tactics. Which means you use your rifle as a varmit killing tactic, not a military implement of destruction.
A tactical flashlight? - A tactic for it not to be so damn dark.
Tactical gloves? - A tactic for my hands not to slip off my axe handle.
Tactical shoes? - A tactic for me not to get so many damn blisters.
I used plenty of tactics, you could call me a tactition. Hell maybe I will use my varmint tactics in cahoots with remingtons model 700....
We could call it the Model 700 Varmint Tactical Rifle....
Now there is a crazy idea.
