If you haven't tried this guy, you should. Very good writer. I love his 'Trail Drive Series'. A total of 14 books and all of them were excellent. Published by SIGNET BOOKS.
He writes alot like Louis Lamour, in that if you read one you can probably follow the story line on the next one, but he has a lot of historical facts involved in his books, such as places, names of old towns, old gunfighters and all of that kind of thing.
I must warn you though you need to research the books before you buy them, because some of his books are in trilogy form and some have followups. I hate having read the last book and then trying to find the first of the series. I think I have most of his books so if anyone is interested I can tell you what order they come in
