Browning A-Bolt II Stalker
« on: January 04, 2008, 02:47:46 AM »
I saw the A-Bolt II Stalker, 7mm-08 in an online auction. The starting bid is $500 and the buy it now is $647. Anyone out there have any experience with this gun, good or bad? What's it worth?

Thanks!

I bought a new composite stalker in 270 wsm from carlton outdoors online for 625 shipped to my ffl. That was the cheapest I could find and I looked for quite a while.

It's a composite stock, blued barrel.

don't have any experience with the 7-08, but I have one in 25WSSM and a stainless version in 270WSM and they are the most accurate rifles I own.  Both will put 3 shot into an inch or less with most factory ammo and will do even better with my handloads.

For an A-Bolt if the price is North of $600 it's not a great deal. They are very nice guns & I have 5 but I would avoid the transfer hassle & just support your local shop at that price.

Thanks for the info. There's a lot to be said for supporting your local gun shop. I actually prefer to hit the locals, it's the whole experience of shooting the bull, getting info, and getting to feel what you're going to buy, etc. But I also keep my eyes open on-line just in case I catch something worthwhile.
