I just noticed another casualty of the 2008 product cuts, the stainless 22-250 is missing :'(, the 223 is missing from the website, but it's in the catalog.

Still some room on that wall, I see Tim. The new 45-70 will be added to my collection if they ever make their way to Canuckistan.

The 45-70 and 7mag has both went to the top of my list along with the Rem 700 VTR. Everything else went to the bottom.

I left a spot for the 7Mag next to the 280Improved, but there's no room for the 6.5x55 when I get it back or the 45-70 Ultra and I have an SB1 Topper frame with no barrel on it right now, it and one one of the duplicates may get sold/traded, or I'll have to rearrange again and go around the corner!! ;)

I picked up a couple 2008 H&R/NEF Catalogs today and I still can't believe the muzzleloaders are not in there. The .17 M2 is also gone, as well as the previously mentioned items. I'm thinking there is going to be a lot of NOS sold over the next couple months. I know I will be buying a few things when I find them now, since they won't be available down the road.

Anybody know who is making the Autoloader for H&R? It don't look like a Verona anymore. Just curious, I'm not buying one of those.

I don't own a .45-70 yet, but that might change with this years offering.

I don't know who makes the autoloader now but your right it looks very strange. I will be looking into a 45-70 though.

The .357/20 might be the perfect BOG.

I want one of the new 24" stainless .45-70 barrels too.  A set of those walnut trap gun stocks on a stainless .45-70 rifle would be real cool!

It's a shame the muzzleloaders are gone.  They were one of the last safe inexpensive smokepoles still in production.

In response to someone's comment about the 357 and 44 not having sights, I personally need sights in addition to a scope, for those foggy mornings I breathe and fog up my scope right about the time a deer walks in front of me1

The site is "under construction" it says. This link don' work either.

Got a call from what sounded like Ahab himself yesterday.
I mailed the action in for repairs. Trigger guard broke and some piece's got inside, think it knocked a spring lose ,or off a pin maybe.

Anyway, rather than messing with it, and wanting another barrel and trigger job.  Mailed it in.
Called and said it was ready for $24.50. Hard to understand what the guy was saying.
something about a barrel, but ,hadn't given it any thought in two weeks and caught me offguard with other things in mind.

This is the .223 action I got from one of the guys here from Austin Tx last winter.

Can I get a .223 barrel (of course!!) and a .45 Colt fit to the same action??

Since I can't get the catalog opened, can you E'mail it to me Tim?  I'd like to have an idea what this might cost me since they've changed hands while I've been offline doing other things.

Thank you,
George

They changed something that doesn't allow their site to come up if you don't put the www in front of the address, I fixed it. ;)

They have some dates available for new offerings in the press releases at H&R, some as early as March for the new trap gun and Ultralight slug gun and as late as mid year for the Handi-Mags, April for the rest, except for the T-hole 223, 22-250 and 243 Ultras which are already available.

I wonder if the two thumbhole stocks shown in the catalogue have different comb drop angles or is it my imagination? I'd like to get one of those for my Handi Rifle I already own. I imagine a bunch will be ordering those stocks! It does appear to be two different comb angles on the two shown though.

Here are couple that I've had for several months, the cinn lam is a factory rifle with a Marlin recoil pad, the camo is a stock I bought from the Boyd's distributor on Ebay, it has a Pachmayr Decelerator pad on it. H&R has been selling the t-hole lams for a while now, please see the FAQs and Help page listed as "2007 Retail Parts Price list", or just call H&R and order them, they might still have some.  ;)

SO since H&R now offers the 44 and 357 mag rifles only on in SB1 receivers does this mean H&R will fit a 44 mag barrel onto my SB1 12 gauge Pardner shotgun receiver?

U J,

It's a good thing we know what they are doing, because they sure don't!  :-\

I checked out one of the new 2008 HY .44 Mags Friday, stamped Handi SB2 on the barrel, definitely a SB1 receiver.  ::)

They have a nice BIG disclaimer stamped into the right side of the receiver to save us though!  ::)

Tim, I'm glad you don't own one of the dogs I do.  Great dane, boxer and pit bull cross.  He's just a pet dog, and a kind one, but he's got a yard long tail that would put those handis in a heap in a heartbeat.  You'd have to lure him away with carrots.  Loves carrots...goes out to the garden in the summer and digs his own.  I'm glad to see someone else around here hates Handis.  I think we ought to buy them all up while we can.  I have 3 barrels on order now.

Tim, I had ordered the stainless .22-250 and waited a month until the dealer finally told me they couldn't find one.  I wanted stainless, because I'm a pig.  But I really didn't want the bull barrel because I'm a wimp too, and didn't want to have to lug it around on snowshoes, so I just ordered a blue barrel instead.  I had a Handi Mag .300 Win Mag on order too.  Please explain to this ignorant person how you can get a price on something and order it and it is not even going to be made!  Strange world we live in.  I think most of us would have been happier at least 100 years ago.
