12 ga. Tamer
« on: January 05, 2008, 02:31:44 AM »
My local gun dealer has 3 Tamers in 12 GA., I think Cly. bore or Imp. Cly. can't remember. These are VERY light guns. I thought about buying one, but I don't think I can convince myself to pull the trigger on such a light 12 GA. I didn't even know H&R made them in 12 GA!! The company seems to have made some interesting combinations of guns over the years. James

JamesIII,

Welcome to the NEF/H&R Shotgun forum. IMHO I don't think they made a 12 ga. Tamer. They did made a 12ga, short barreled Marina model. It was Nickle plated and advertised for a boat gun in salt water. I'm not sure of the chokes, but I think Markus gun is based off this model.

PS: They are hard to find and make a very good all weather gun!

Thanks Froghunter, I looked at the shotgun several times, it has Tamer 12 GA stamped on the barrel. It would have been made in 2000 according to the serial prefix. Cute little gun and it is N.I.B.. The dealer said he bought a bunch of them several years ago and just never pushed them.  James

My 12ga nickle shorty is an old survivor with a regular synthetic stock. I'm betting it was just a distributor request and never part of their regular production.
I've never seen one but you can buy a 12ga tamer stock from choate and make one.
