Encore muzzleloader question
« on: January 05, 2008, 02:12:37 PM »
If you change the breech plug to the 25acp plug, do you leave the extractor in or remove it from the barrel?

Thanks,
Bobby

Well, I haven't changed out the breech plug on my Encore yet, but I can tell you the extractor is unnecessary when using a 209 primer, and I have to believe a .25 ACP case would be easier to grab hold of than a 209, so my advice would be to leave the worthless POS extractor out, and see what happens.

The ML EZ tip extractor and the factory one is junk too. They are both gimmicks. I wouldn't advice anyone to buy into them. The 209 is so loose after the shot you can touch it and it will fall out.

First thing I did when I got my 209x50 was remove the extractor. Totally in the way and not needed, the 209 primers have never stuck in 100's of shots.
