Mounting Burris Zee rings on TSOB base

The Burris Zee rings I'm trying to mount on an SSK TSOB base are too narrow to slide onto the base.  The rings are 420081 medium weaver mount and I'm sure they are suppose to fit.  If they were spread just a hair they would fit.  Does anyone have a technique for getting them to slide on that does not scratch the base or the rings?  Thanks for the help.

Take a large flat blade screw driver and place it vertically in the cut away on the ring.  "GENTLY" exert force away from the ring a little at a time until the ring pushes onto the base with some effort.  I've done this several times.  Works good.  TIGHTEN, but don't force it or you'll snap the head off the screw post.  (Words of experience).
