« on: January 06, 2008, 05:46:27 AM »
Ok guys , its time for me to start the rounds of the shops for this years shoot . What i need from you guys is some input as to what to ask for  . For the handloaders , what cals. do you load for and what powder , primers , ect you use ?

And anything else that would be nice to see , with in reason of course . So post up some ideas for me , i'll keep an eye on this for the next few weeks to see what you have to say . i'll also try to keep this close to the top of the page so its easy to find .  ;)

Anything you can get is good!  ;D

In bullets I think most guys are using the 22 centerfire calibers, .224 bullets would work for most people.

Stimpy, the items you were able to give out last year was fantastic!  I won a bag of 204 ruger brass, and guess what - I had to go buy a rifle to use them in.  Have been reloading all winter for this years hunt.  Any 17 thru 22 cal bullets and powder would be great, like H-322.  Also small rifle primers and maybe a couple of set of reloading dies in .223 and .204.  If someone doesn't use what they get, it'll make for good swap materials.

Stimpy I got a home made Handi 2 gun 4 bbl rifle rack that I will make to donate as a door prize. Or would a 1 gun 3 bbl be better? I'm still trying to decide configuration. Kurt

Kurt

Anything you are willing to chip in is just fine , last year Marv kicked in a bunch of Mag primers , Fuzzy tossed in a set of Handi stocks , Clint added some soft foam rubber elbow pads . You get the idea . This goes for anyone else , if you feel like tossing in an item it will be more than welcome .

I'll try to make sure that you do not get the same item back .  ;D

stimpy

PS

I'm working a deal for another big prize something like what Dan won last time .  ;)

I have a few things to donate and I hope that I can make it but I have a trip to Boston June 10th-16th.  If I can not make it I will have ot meet up with Ditchdigger and Like2Hunt and let them bring the prizes.

Love's Country Store in two or three locations are my regular fuel stops in the job I have. I'm gonna see if I can't get a few more clothing items from each one for door prizes before it's time. Also, I'll talk to Gene Sears in the near future about what he can donate.
Digger you need to talk to Dan about Gene's sons and let me know pretty soon.

With the latest news it's hard to guess how they might respond.

Remington Announces Manufacturing Consolidation Plan.

Madison, NC - April 7, 2008 - - Remington Arms Company, Inc. ("Remington"), the United States' largest firearms manufacturer, today announced a strategic manufacturing consolidation move that will result in the closure of its Gardner, Massachusetts plant ("Gardner"). This integration will be seamless and will not affect our customers or our product offerings.

"While it was a difficult decision to close Gardner, we believe that this consolidation will enhance our ability to more efficiently provide quality products at competitive prices in an increasingly demanding global marketplace." said Tommy Millner, Remington's Chief Executive Officer. "We are always looking for ways to strengthen and optimize our business in order to stay competitive, while also creating additional opportunities for our employees and better products for customers. Our number one goal is to provide our customers and end-users with the best, most innovative products at a competitive price. Consolidation of manufacturing capabilities and migration to common operating systems are expected to create efficiencies that will achieve this goal."

Throughout the remainder of 2008, the integration of Gardner's operations is expected to result in centralized sales and marketing, streamlined operations, standardized information technology infrastructure, and common financial functionality while vigorously maintaining and promoting individual brand identity and products.

Unfortunately, an estimated 200 Gardner employees will be impacted by the closure, which is expected to be completed by the end of 2008. A number of employees will transition from Gardner to other capacities within the Company. For those not transferred, the Company will be offering severance, outplacement, and referral services in order to assist in this difficult transition.

I have a box of stuff from Midsouth Shooter's Supply I'll be shipping out to Dan soon. I spoke with Nosler today and they too promised to ship some stuff my way. I'll box up what they ship and what Midsouth did and ship it via UPS to Dan.
