Spring Bear in Alberta BUGS?

Me and a buddy are going on a spring bear in Alberta Canada hunt early June. How bad are the bugs should we take face nets?

I have never been there in the spring but it seems that Black Bear and biting insects go together. If you have an outfitter he should tell you. Good luck.

For no more space than one takes in a bag, I would take a couple.  I've been bear hunting in Ontario and I was so thankful that I have a good bug net.

Thanks I guess I'll get one just to be on safe side. Used one once hated wearing it bugs don't bother me only if there biting buggers!

Thousands of biting bugs can kill your hunting trip in seconds flat. If I was going to Alberta on a spring bear hunt I'd bring a full bug suit or a thermocell. Actually, when I go I bring BOTH.

With all the time and money that gets tied up in one of these trips, don't let the bugs ruin it for you.

Where in Alberta are you going? I lived, worked, and hunted over large parts of Alberta.

The Northern parts of Alberta can have frightening concentrations of bugs...not as bad as Ontario or worse Manitoba but pretty bad for the West.

The Southern Rockies areas of Alberta can be bad at times and certain places, but seem bug free, compared to the rest of Canada.
