Tasco / Remington
« on: January 07, 2008, 12:03:27 PM »
I've got an older Tasco scope that I've had for years on my Remington 7 mag.  This past season I wanted to move the scope back and in the process the mount screws (6-48 x 1 1/2") stripped out.  Does anybody know where I can find some of these screws or new mounts all together?

The thing is this Tasco scope has a factory rubberized coating all around it so a set of  traditional ring mounts won't work.  The bottom of the scope has the dovetail machined into it and these mounts are a kind of like a vise clamping the dovetail of the rifle and the dovetail on the bottom of the scope.

I've been all over web-sites, on the phone with Tasco, Midway USA etc...and then I thought of Graybeards....I know...I should have come here first.

Thanks fellas for helping an old guy out.

Yeah I have called remington and they got hung up on the scope being mounted from underneath and not using rings.  I haven't looked into the gunsmiths you mentioned.
