Confussed on Screw in Choke options for 12 guage Rem 1100
« on: January 08, 2008, 06:26:44 AM »
I just upgraded my 30 year old 1100 with a new barrel,  26" steel/lead  2/34 or 3".

It included a full choke and I was looking for additional chokes.  A web site listed about a dozen options,  which included about half skeet and the other half regular.

What is the difference in a skeet mod and a regular modified?

Thanks,

Dean

The choke manufacturer probably gives the diameter of each.  Skeet will have less choke than imp cyl which will be less than modified which will be less than full.  Turkey chokes are normally the most constricting.  With steel shot, most people use less choke than with lead.

If you go to http://www.remington.com/products/accessories/gun_parts/remChoke_tubes.asp there is a full explanation of the Remington choke tubes.
