Choate stocks

Ok guys need your input.My 223 bull barrel handi will be here this week and was looking at the choate synthetic stocks. Think I'll go with the varmint forend with bipod adapter forend,anyone have this and how do you like it?
Where I can't make up my mind is the buttstock,I have one with the monte carlo stock and like it after shortening it alittle.Was looking at the varmint stock with more of a pistol grip to it,but not sure if I'd like it or not.Just thinking it may add too much bulk for a rifle used for walking around with.Do you really notice where it sticks down where you grip it in the field,or would I get used to it and not notice it?Thanks for any input.

I don't have one but I looked at one long and hard this week.  See my post down the page a bit.

For carrying it around with a sling over your shoulder, with that forearm, you'd want to remove the bipod, adapter rail and lock screw or be very uncomfortable.  I don't think the buttstock would add much bulk; it may even be easier to carry in a sling over your shoulder.

MT,
 I just checked out post from this week,must have missed that one,thanks.Yeah I like the idea of being able to attach bipod and be able to remove the adapter rail so I can use my shooting sticks too and be quick to install again.The varmint stock has spacers to remove to shorten it,humm nice,anyone know the thickness of the spacers?I like a 13 1/2 lop,and this may work out good!

Choate sells ¼" spacers too, as well as a low and high cheek riser. ;)

I have a set on my 308 and had another set on my varmint setup. I love them! The only reason I got rid of a set is to trade for a Boyd Thumbhole set.
