How far do u sight?

How far do all u sight your 22 mag in for? i have my marlin bolt action sigted in for a 100 yards shotting 40 JHP CCI maxi mag, was just wondering how far u all sight your Mags in for?

100yds here as well...
But I'm shooting the 30gr V-max @ 2,200fps.

At 100yds, POI is only .5" high at 50yds, and .6"high at 75yds...
So if the target is within 100 yards (and some change) I can hold directly where I want the bullet to hit, and I'll pretty much nail it. Makes it easy to hit small targets without much thinking.

Using the 40gr HPs you're using, you're looking at 1" high at 50yds, and 1.1" high at 75yds (roughly) if sighted in at 100yds

If you haven't tried the 30gr MaxiMag +V's or V-max yet...you should see if your rifle will group 'em. These little guys have pretty much turned my HMR into a dust collector.

My marlin bolt action didnt group the Remmy 33gr v-max well at all there like 11 bucks a box and the cci 40gr are 9 bucks so i shoot them, as for my 2 HMR's i still shoot them because they are cheaper than the v-max 22mag ammo,i dont have a lott of bullet choice for the mag but at a guns shop out of town he wants like 12, 14 bucks a box for mag shells thats y i dont shoot much other than the cci maxi mag i have some winchester 40gr hollow points it dont like to well eather so i have a bunch of mag ammo my gun dont like

Yeah, around here CCI's 22mag 30gr V-max is 50 cents more than the cheapest HMR V-max (Federal).
That's $11 for 22mag stuff and $10.50 the federal HMR....

What I find strange is why the Federal HMR stuff is only $10.50 while all the rest is $12.99+
CCI loads the stuff for hornady/federal/CCI and it's basically all the same (shoots pretty much the same out of my rifle). Why the extra cost?

I think the Maxi-Mags were $8.59 the last time I picked some up...but again, I haven't shot 'em in a while.

Given the 22mag Vmax has about 50 more ftlbs, and will go ~MOA with my 25M it's definitely worth the extra few cents for what I use it for....and I leave the HMR in the safe when it comes to field use. I'd consider selling my HMR if it wasn't so pretty on paper!

I can't get the Remington Accutip-V to do very well out of my 22mag, either...it seems to run around $13 a box--but then again, the remington V-max runs $14 here. I can't get great performance out of anything Remington in my rimfires! The expense defintely isn't worth it.

Agreed with bscman on the 40gr HP and around 1" high @ 50yds will handle most chores.

If you start out at 25yds and make your own target of good contrast (read a small white circle within a black rectangle) you can really get the thing driving tack's quickly.
