Just got a S&W Model 59, but no manual.  Can someone tell me how to field-strip this model?

deecee :  First remove the magazine then make sure the weapon is UNLOADED lay it down on the table in front of you with the barrell pointing to the LEFT now look at the slide and you will see a notch cut in the slide just above the front of the trigger guard the lever on top of the trigger will then be what you will be working with work the slide rearward about 1 in. and the notch will line up with the pin part of the lever mentioned earlier hold the slide in position and the lever will come out towards you, re assembly will be all in the reverse.  Good luck :D    JIM

I inherited a model 6 S&W some time ago. I contacted S&W and asked for a book on this gun,it arrived within a week. I was offered a video of the procedure for about $12 and gladly paid for it. Seeing some thing done makes doing it SO much easier. jh
