I would like to know the source for this great revelation.  There has been a rumor a month to this effect since the 94 was dropped.  I guess I will see it when I believe it.  And when it does come back it won't last unless it is better than the last year or so of the 94AE.  It would be great if it comes back like the pre 64s.

Here is the story

The 94
Right now, all we know is that it's coming back, built under the Winchester Repeating Arms brand. Changes? Probably some, but not a lot; it's hard to improve on one of the greatest designs ever (although I may be forced to eat some crow for this statement) You probably won't see it until 2009. All attention is on the model 70 for now, but the word is official---- on the heels of the 70, we'll see the 94 again.

I have a 94 that I will never part with, and had a 94 that I could hardly wait to get rid of.  If (and until they are available it will be if) they come back I hope that they are like the former.

I believe they are coming back, why not?? They came back with the pump shot gun why not 94?

Mainly because they didn't sell worth a hoot until they were out of production.  Had they been a going concern they still would be made today.

Lets see what the proposed new one looks like and what it costs.

Had they been doing well they would still be in business.  They aren't, and no one wanted to pick up the product.  My guess is that the Winchesters that are coming back will be expensive, and made for enthusiasts, not the general shooter.  And likely at a high price.

    Love my 94 classic , bought it brand new in 75 . Have always liked the old rifle and will have it till I kroak. Was the first deer rifle I ever purchased, Could have had my pick but I was and still a John Wayne fan , Rifleman , I still watch the old shows almost every night. Reminds me of my youth. Can remember the first time he cranked off with that trick hooped lever gun . Guess I just never got over it.
   There was a great article on the rifles made for the show in one of the mags last summer. I passed on buying one , have regretted it since.

There just has to be a bunch of the older model 94s in gun shops and pawn shops around the country.  A store near where I live had a bunch of them in, but then that was before Winchester folded up. Maybe they are scarcer than hen's teeth by now.

   Was at a Gun Show over the week-end and saw some really nice 94`s  but they were .......pricy! 
   A standard of sorts has been set (pre-64) and what ever they bring out in the future may be a Win-94
   but not THE Win 94.   Be like owning a fake.

I own a couple pre-64 Winchesters............but,  I would not say that.  Not sure what they have in mind yet, to early to tell.

Obviously they know Winchesters and how to build them.  I just want to see "Made in America"......"quality workmanship"........etc.  Considering what I see others here doing..............that would be a good start.

heard rumors about the return of the 94 in 2009, plus that it would be produced in several old (i.e. Trapper) and new models (45/70, .308MX). Can anyone confirm these rumors?
