I have a M7600 .30-06 carbine that I use for tracking and stillhunting deer in New England. This past season was my first with this gun. I thought hard about what to put on it for sights and decided on a Nikon 2X7. Unfortunately my only chance at a mature buck was one I jumped from his bed at about 10 yards in a blinding snowstorm. I had about 3 seconds to get the gun up and get a shot off before he was out of sight and I never did get a good sight picture on him.
I've relived that moment over a hundred times since and I'm thinking my best chance in that type of situation would be a holographic sight. I've looked at Bushnell's, Eotech's, and several other models. I'm wondering if there's any of you that have a sight like this on a rifle used for this type of deer hunting. About the only feedback I find is from AR types. Thanks,
Lester
